We believe that the best way to help people, is to enable them to help each other. karmist is a mobile app that does exactly this, it connects people who need help with those who want to help. In doing so, karmist redefines social networking to something more meaningful by creating tangible connections which result in tangible good. The idea for karmist came about after Hurricane Harvey devastated Houston when our founder attempted to organize a boat rescue party from his hometown of Austin. However, it became quickly apparent that coordinating these efforts was exceedingly difficult because there was no good platform to connect the people who needed help with those who wanted to help. Inspired to change this, our founder reached out to some friends from Silicon Valley and together they decided to form karmist with the following core mission: "to create a positive & tangible impact on the world by helping people help each other” At karmist, we believe that by unleashing and enabling the desire for people to help each other, we can have a transformative effect at improving livelihoods in our communities and around the world.
